Compressor, hose and air-quality check
Treat grinding as sustained duty unless the work cycle proves otherwise. Large angle and vertical models can demand far more airflow than intermittent service tools; check pressure at the running inlet.
- Use delivered compressor CFM at the same stated pressure as the tool—not tank gallons, displacement or horsepower alone.
- Add tools that can run simultaneously and account for the real work cycle. Preserve capacity margin for sustained work.
- Confirm minimum hose inside diameter, total run length, coupler bore, regulator and filter capacity.
- Measure pressure at the tool inlet while it is operating. A static gauge can look correct while flow restriction causes a large drop.
- Drain moisture and follow the exact maker’s filtration and lubrication instructions.
Safety and stop-work limits
Abrasive overspeed, damage or incorrect guarding can cause catastrophic failure. Inspect wheel, mount and guard before use and follow the accessory maker’s mounting instructions.
- Use eye and face protection; control sparks, dust and combustibles.
- Never exceed accessory speed or remove a required guard.
